Not only has he qualified for the open regional winter championships, he has moved up to medium level and gained two wins, narrowly missing out on qualifying for the regionals at this level! I am so proud of him and look forward to more high scores next year

Boris:

Boris continued his all-round education but we decided to take him to affiliated Dressage competitions. He was placed in every outing, winning his class and gaining 2nd, 3rd and fourth place!

Que veux tu:

Que veux tu  has been out show jumping and gained two 4th places at BSJA novice and discovery level. I have been very pleased with her performances. She has been jumping double clears with ease. We will be able to increase the speed and move up a class to become more competitive at our next outing !

Keira

Keira has had tremendous success with Brae at her affiliated competitions, winning at Prelim and Novice level and being placed 2nd!

I think she can be very proud of her achievements with her boy, well done!!

Emma

Earlier t
his year we welcomed Emma Groome to our team.

She since has taken on the role as head girl and showed real commitment and skill in organising and running the yard. Although having had some time away from horses, Emma is eager and hungry to learn and has already gained her intermediate grooms certificate. She is very good with the handling of young and nervous horses and we are lucky to have her in our team.

Boris and Dee have been out cross cou
ntry schooling just in time before we had more rainfall and we look forward to after Christmas when we will do some more!

Cruise

Cruise had his last run at Aldon international in October.
He run in the intermediate class and did a very competitive dressage test, an u
nlucky pole rolled in the sj phase and we had a long hold up before our xc round. The second last fence on the course caused a lot of run outs. As it got so late in the day, the sun got so low , half of the courses take-offs were impossible to see. I opted therefore for a slow, safe round, which I thoroughly enjoyed and thought of as a good round up to his season. Cruise was delighted to grow lots of hair and a belly and walk barefoot to his field every day to get very muddy J well, time is up now and he just started his walking again...

Cross Country Clinic in Switzerland

Christoph Meier, who represented Switzerland in Eventing for years in several major championships as well as the Olympics kindly invited me to run a Clinic in Avenches, Switzerland.

I thoroughly enjoyed meeting fellow competitors and although I occasionally I slipped into English mode whilst teaching, horses and riders were in brilliant form and we all enjoyed a great day!

Dee

Dee has been showing real promise in the show ring. She has been placed every time out and promptly won at her latest outing, the Ossie Ward Show.

She not only won the Riding Horse class but she won the Championship class! Dee also came second in her first ever Dressage test with over 66%.

At her young age, this shows what a wonderful temperament and trainability she has. I so enjoy working with her and to take her anywhere is a pleasure.

We all left the show so happy and I look forward to her next outing!

Visit

Visit has also been to a show. With the support of Sally Hammill, who bravely attended in the pouring rain, we attended the Betty Skelton Memorial Show in Penton Mewsey. Visit shone despite the heavy downpour and took the first price! We were all soaked but very happy!

Cruise

Cruise has had two successful outings at Intermediate level.

He tackled a very technical cross country course over undulating grounds at Wilton Horse Trials superbly. The fences were causing enough trouble, especially the water, that was situated behind the lorry park close to home. A few "skinnies" on downhill approaches seemed to claim a few victims too. Cruise held his own and answered every question with ease. I couldn't have been happier.

Highclere Castle was an up-to height and technical course. Several fences of the advanced class were included in the intermediate, which made it a strong course.

The ground was slightly "holding" , which made the jumping efforts harder.

Cruise was one of only 5 clear rounds in the Show jumping and went on to jump brilliantly around the demanding xc course. He felt top class and I smiled after every single fence and gave him a pat. When finishing, I sneaked into the secretary's tent to "steal" a couple of mints, that were there for the riders collecting the numbers, only to give them to a very good little Cruiseo, who had certainly deserved them!!!

Chance

Chance has been busy too and with great success!!

In two outings, doing 4 classes he won 3 and came second once!

He felt much more relaxed and was therefore able to express himself much better. For me it was just so rewarding to feel him letting go more and trusting me, that all will be ok... I am thrilled with him and his results are a huge achievement!

His results : 1. Place Medium 63 (68.27%)

1. Place Elementary 50 (69.64%)

1. Place Elementary 59 (66.87%)

2. Place Elementary 50 (70%)

Que Veux Tu

Que veux Tu has had a few very educational runs at Pre-novice level. Her show jumping is superb and she is getting more relaxed in the dressage phase. A cross the country she needs more experience as she is a clever but careful mare. We have taken a few weeks off competing, to gain more experience over various different xc courses and schooling track but we are looking to get one or two runs in before the big break.

Boris

Boris has been to a few outings in show jumping and combined trainings. He was placed every time out, coming second in both his combined training competitions at West Wilts! He already produced a very good Novice dressage test on his only 3. Ever attempt and he jumped a lovely clear round too. I am very pleased with his development and we have more venues planned for him, before affiliating him.. so watch out for the Boris, he is on the go !

Chance

Chance has been out doing dressage, bringing back some very pleasing results at Elementary level ,including a second price at Hunters on July 17! He also moved successfully up to Medium level, which is very exciting! His work at home is pure joy and I feel he has gained on security in the rein, power and balance. I can’t wait to take him out again.

Cruise

Cruise had some good results out eventing, including a brilliant double clear at Morton Morrell, a lovely double clear at West Wilts and a 9th place at Tweseldown in the Intermediate Novice.

Tramore

Tramore went out to the Avon Vale Hunt show and won the dressage class with 71.85%! He also went on to win the Mountain and Moorland class! A super result for a 4 year old and the judges loved him and were very impressed with his obedient and balanced way of going! I was thrilled and very, very proud of him.

Dee

The Avon Vale Hunt show was also Dee’s first ever show. Charlie, who is helping us on the yard whilst her Uni break, did a fantastic job as a show groom and it was lovely to have Owner/Breeder Mick and Jackie Pettett witnessing her first show.  Dee was entered in the Riding Horse Class and she came 2nd! She looked beautifully and was impeccably behaved. She didn’t put a foot wrong and the judges words were very complimentary about her conformation and her mature way of going.I left the show ring with a big smile and full of pride!

Que Veux Tu

Que veux Tu has moved up to PN level. Her jump is full of power and although she needs to gain more experience she has such a powerful jump, which I really enjoy!

April 2011

Training with Lucinda Green was another encouraging session. Although the ground conditions limited us in terms of jumping efforts, her experienced eye and feel for horse and rider are invaluable and I’m so grateful to get invited to these trainings.

Sunglow Black Princess

Sunglow Black Princess graduated from boarding school in style!

I was very pleased with Princess’s progress over the weeks she was at Lower Ham Farm.

To see her go so well for her owner Sally, the first time she sat on her was delightful and I think her smile says it all  !

Boris

Boris went for an outing to gain some experience in the eventing scene. We started off just with the dressage phase at Aston- le – Walls  UA.

He loved it and thought it was jolly good fun. His score was a very pleasing 32.5!  A good start and another positive experience for us!
