FOXY SOX

In his stable, Foxy is a typical "Kiwi"! Relaxed (always seen with a droopy bottom lip) and real friendly. Foxy is built like a typical thoroughbred. He looks strong and athletic and is built to go fast.
He has scope and is quite careful. His carefulness can sometimes result in him dropping behind the leg or him being a little spooky.
I generally see him as a horse which will achieve a lot but first we need to develop our partnership.
Having gained some good results in NZ, it is my goal to get some good form in this country!
News about Foxy
October 2010
Foxy’s season has ended. We never got to out last event as planned, the CIC** at South of England, as Foxy woke up with a terribly bruised toe just 3 days before the competition! Although I got the vet out, he was too sore to recover in time. It was a shame but he is happy and sound now, which is the main thing!
September 2010

We set off cross country but unfortunately a misunderstanding in front of the big table cut our journey short. Foxy clipped the fence and I took a tumble. Thanks to airjacket I was totally fine and thank goodness so was Foxy! So I guess, it left me to analyse and work on what went wrong!
Luckily great help from Lucinda Green was at hand! Her invaluable inputs and training techniques are always welcome and point out exactly, where things need altering or changing!
Foxy went to Cleobury Mortimer, I was very pleased as Foxy went very well after having a hiccup at Barbury, it was nice to get a good run before his next OI run.
Fox then went off to Pontispool to compete in the OI. After a good dressage, 2 poles rolled but a great around across country left me beaming from ear to ear!
June 2010
Foxy went to Salperton Park, where he finished 14. Salperton Park is simply a stunning venue.
Setting off in the lorry on time, we had to negotiate several incidents including road closure, lorry door fixing on route, traffic jam and at the end we missed the last turn off!
Luckily, we were given a later slot for our dressage!
The heat was quite immense and Foxy wasn’t too impressed by the horrid horse flies.. luckily he flew himself round the cross country, and no fly was fast enough to catch him then!
May 2010
Foxy had a clear round across a tricky and literally “sticky” ground at the South of England OI event.
I had a lot of help and support from Mum preparing for Aston-le Walls OI, which paid off in Foxy’s performance in all phases! He set off to xc after a very pleasing dressage and a good SJ round. Aston-le Walls, was over a beautiful, flowing course. Fox went round the course in flash giving me a great ride and finished in 7th place in a very competitive section! I was totally happy!
March 2010
Foxy had his first run at Tweseldown March 12th. I was pleased with the overall performance, as the hard winter had restricted our preparations. I opted for a slow, safe and clear xc round and that’s what we did! So I came back smiling!
Summary of the 2009 Event season: - Foxy Sox
Foxy came to me with the aim to improve his competition record in order to sell him on. I immediately liked him and we all adore him on the yard.
His confidence was shaken which needed restoring. Our first run was a little wobbly and we had an error of course at Aston le Walls.
However, he finished with a double clear in 4 ON in a row and finished 9th at Shipton Moyne Novice and also 9th at the CIC* at Brightling Park.
Clear at OI Tweseldown and at OI Wilton.
He then was 11th at the OI at Cleobury Mortimer.
With help of John Bell and my mother Herta and a kind offer from Ruth we managed to keep Foxy here!
